The Ministry of Mines and Mining Development has asked board members of two of its key parastatals - the Minerals Marketing Corporation of Zimbabwe and the Zimbabwe Mining Development Corporation - who will be participating in the July 31 harmonised elections to step down.

Those who have been affected by the development include both the chairmen of ZMDC and MMCZ Godwills Masimirembwa and Christopher Mutsvangwa respectively.

Colonel Tshinga Dube, who is the chairman of Marange Resources, which is wholly owned by ZMDC, has also met with the same fate.

ZMDC board member Supa Mandiwanzira and MMCZ board member Tongai Muzenda have been similarly affected.
